Tulum was made for content creators! Around every corner, there is an Instagram photo waiting to be taken. Some of the most “Instagram-Worthy” spots in Tulum actually have LINES as long as 2+ hours. To save you the hassle (and time) – here are my recommendations for 5 Instagram-Worthy Things to Do in Tulum that don’t require you to stand in line for hours and hours and hours.
Drink a Smoothie or Acai Bowl at Matcha Mama
Matcha Mama is the cutest little tropical Matcha Bar in Tulum and perfect for a photo opp. Swings are wrapped around the bar, so you can sit and watch them make your smoothie, kombucha or açaí bowl.

All of their ingredients are plant-based and gluten free. They are open daily till 6:00pm so it’s the perfect spot for a quick bite.
Swim in the local Cenotes
Last I checked, there are thousands of cenotes in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico. This is one of the MUST-DO activities when visiting Tulum and perfect for capturing those Instagram-boomerangs or TikTok videos. I like to describe cenotes as natural, underground watering holes with each one being unique and different.

Check out my blog post – 3 Cenotes to Visit in Tulum – for a detailed description of my favorites. Tulum also offers different tours and packages. I love this Cenote Jungle Bike Ride Tour, which explores three different cenotes, including Gran Cenote (my personal favorite!).
If you’re a paddleboarding fan (or at least want to learn) – I would recommend the Cenote Paddleboarding & Snorkeling Tour. It’s a half-day adventure that includes lunch and you’ll be able to experience cenotes in a truly unique way – on a paddleboard!
Enjoy Dinner at Azulik
Azulik is probably the most well-known “Instagram” hotel in Tulum. It has this jungle, treehouse vibe and truly incredible architecture. Azulik wants you to “reconnect with nature.” A lot of influencers & celebrities have stayed at Azulik over the years but for me, sleeping in a glorified treehouse with no A/C is not exactly my vibe.

However, you can still get some great photos and videos if you have dinner there. Azulik has a stunning restaurant, Kin Toh, where you can dine among the treetops. You’ll still get the overall vibe of Azulik so I recommend to dine here, not stay here.
Check out Casa Malca Hotel
Casa Malca is an interior designers dream and an amazing property for photos. The entrance to their hotel is beautiful and if you don’t look closely enough, you may miss the best part! What looks like white curtains… is actually recycled wedding dresses! Pretty damn cool, right?!

There is also a Keith-Harring inspired restaurant, a stunning chandelier room and Casa Malca always has rotating art and sculpture designers throughout the property.

Word on the street is if you are not staying at Casa Malca, you may have to pay a fee to explore the property. Bring pesos just in case!
Hire a Private Tulum Photo Tour w Photographer
If you really want to make sure that you get the BEST Tulum photos for your social media pages, you may want to book your own private Tulum photographer who will take you all around town. I love Tulum, Mexico! These are super cute Instagram photo ops!
These are all so cute – great suggestions! A visit to Tulum has been on my bucket list for a while now, and I can’t wait to go and check out these spots. Thanks so much for sharing! Xx Sara
I love the center. I did a snorkelling tour of them but no instagram photos. The photo tour would be a fun thing to do.
Ive always wanted to swim in the Cenotes! Azulik looks amazing too, and even though I feel like I’m the only one that hasn’t been there, I still really want to go! Hiring a photographer is such a great idea!
Tulum is top on my list I hope to visit soon! Saving this list for when I go visit and want some cute pictures. If I’m able to book a photographer for a good price that might even be better!
Tulum is a great spot for a vacation!
